What were you created for?
It's been a while since I have posted onto (or into) my blog. Partially because I haven't had any inspiration or motivation to sit and share my thoughts, but mostly because life has been a non-stop roller coaster for me.
For anyone who may be keeping up with my life through the blog: I crossed my road. It is funny how circumstances force you to make your decision as Pastor Jack put it during his "half tree" story "it was as though God dropped a ton of bricks on me". I smile at what was--what ever that was--and I keep on trucking though. (See the upcoming post "Don't Waste the Pretty").
Last week was bitter-sweet, dealing with some nasty stuff but I did what God called me to and I know He will bless me through my actions. Thank God for wisdom and the Word He has so graciously given us to guide us along our way.
As usual work has been well work. I love my job, I know that this is where I am meant to be. This is what I was created for. I am fulfilling my purpose. I heard on the radio this morning (on my way to work) that 80% are in the wrong workplace....they aren't in the job that they were meant for. And I began to wonder why that was, why is it that people continue to abuse themselves by going to a place in which they hate, makes them unhappy. Though I understand that there are many who are unable to anything else because their #1 priority is to support their family and themselves. Then there are the many of us (including myself) who are blessed enough to be given the opportunity to do what we want with endless options. Many may frown upon the decision I made, but I chose to work full-time and do school part-time. That was MY decision, because in my heart I knew that was God's will for me. CCC is where God intends me to be. Sitting at the front desk. Doing the bulletins. Answering the phones. Filling out hospitilization/bereavment notices. Doing prayer request. Every day I get to do what I love to do, I am given the opportunity to help someone, to serve, and possibly change someone's life. Then there are those who put their dreams and aspirations aside to just make the big bucks, because in the end though their job may not make them happy they truely believe that the money they make will help them get in and out of each day.
